Our latest whole home remodel in Edmonds, Washington was not only a stunning transformation, but a deeply personal one.


A Remodel Close to Home

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I (Jamie White) have always felt incredibly grateful to work in the community that shaped me. Edmonds holds a special place in my heart — it's where I grew up, played ball, and built lifelong friendships. So when one of my childhood friends from elementary school reached out to have us remodel her family’s home, it felt like a full-circle moment.

This whole home remodel wasn’t just about cabinets and countertops — it was about bringing warmth, style, and function to a space that her growing family could thrive in for years to come. As a bonus, she took on the role of designer for her own project, which made the collaboration even more meaningful.


What We Did

This comprehensive home remodel in Snohomish County included updates across every corner of the home:

  • Custom Kitchen Remodel - We worked with a local Arlington cabinet maker to create stunning custom cabinetry — including a hidden pantry door built into a full wall of cabinets. The heart of the kitchen is the jaw-dropping island topped with Taj Mahal Quartzite, blending natural beauty with functionality. We also brought a different quartzite onto the fireplace, creating cohesion and a wow-factor.
  • Bathroom Remodels - Multiple bathrooms throughout the home were redesigned using handmade tiles on the floors and in the showers. Each space was tailored to reflect the family’s unique style while providing long-term durability and comfort.
  • Oak Floors, Trim & Paint - New oak flooring throughout brings a modern warmth. We used bold and fun paint colors to give the home personality, with fresh trim and high-quality finishes for a polished, timeless look.
  • Bedrooms & Living Spaces - From cozy, custom bedrooms to a reimagined fireplace wall, every area was infused with both personal charm and design-forward thinking.


Built on Trust and Word of Mouth

A Personal Note

This project also held deep personal meaning for me. As many of our clients know, my dad — a beloved baseball coach and longtime local building inspector — passed away from dementia a year and a half ago. He was well-known in the Edmonds and Mill Creek communities, and I think he would’ve been proud to see me working on this home, with people I’ve known since childhood.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I started Contemporary Quarters — to bring beauty, comfort, and integrity into the homes of people I care about.
