Transforming a 1970s Basement into a Beautiful, Light-Filled Bathroom in Bothell

Transforming a 1970s Basement into a Beautiful, Light-Filled Bathroom in Bothell
We recently wrapped up a fantastic bathroom remodel in a Bothell home that had a unique backstory. The house, built in the late 70s, always had plumbing roughed in for a basement bathroom, but the space was never actually finished. We partnered with the homeowners to turn that long-neglected area into a fully functional, stylish bathroom—and the results are better than anyone expected.
Design Highlights: A Blend of Cream and Blue
One of the standout features of this remodel is the beautiful combination of colors and materials. We started with a classic cream-colored tile on the floor and halfway up the shower walls. From there, we transitioned to a striking oversized blue floral print tile that adds a pop of color and personality. The end result is a space that feels both modern and charming.
Bringing It Up to Code and Adding Light
We also made sure the bathroom was up to code by replacing an old non-tempered window with a safe, tempered one in the shower area. This not only brought in natural light but also ensured everything met local building standards. Plus, we worked with the city to get the bathroom properly permitted as an official bathroom space, making the entire process smooth for the homeowners.
The Finishing Touches
With the big elements in place, we added a stylish vanity, modern light fixtures, and a new toilet to complete the transformation. The homeowners now have a bathroom that not only fits their budget but also exceeds their design dreams.
